Serious question: Is this wiki ready to go to the Language Committee[үҙгәртергә]

Apologies for writing here in English.

@Comp1089, Ләйсән, and anyone else in this test community: I have a serious question for you: Are you ready to go to the Language Committee for approval?

I've started to go through all of the projects on Incubator, starting with Wikibooks. I find this to be the one and only Wikibooks project that may be ready for a review. There is sufficient activity, and at least on the surface there is a sufficient number of pages.

  • Still, I've started navigating to random pages in the test, and I find a lot of the pages to be pretty short. Now, I don't know this language, and I don't know Wikibooks projects as well as I do, say, Wikipedias. So I can't tell if those pages are short because they're inherently short, or if they are short because they are effectively stubs and need to be filled out more.
  • I'd really like to go to LangCom and propose this product for approval—but I don't want to do that if their review is simply going say that this project is full of stubs and half-finished projects.
  • Simply put, then: Is this project ready for approval, or do you need more time to finish fleshing out some of the books here?

StevenJ81, I think we're ready. --Ләйсән (talk) 19:14, 11 July 2017 (UTC)
Хорошо. (Yes, I know it's Russian. That's as close as I can probably get.) So a couple of points, then:
  • Important! People have to keep working on this during the process. There must be at least three editors with at least ten edits each during every calendar month.
  • LangCom is working through an internal change in procedures now, and also has a couple of project closures currently on its plate. As soon as those are gone (probably next week or two) I will let them know that you are ready for a final check. They will find an expert in Bashkir to verify the content language. If all goes well, then an approval can come soon thereafter. There have been some complaints recently that so few non-Wikipedia projects are going through, so I think that will make this a good time to put your project forward. Please stay in touch; I assume I can communicate with the Wb/ba community on this page. StevenJ81 (talk) 19:30, 11 July 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for support, StevenJ81. The articles are short, because it's recipes, puzzles. They finished.--Ләйсән (talk) 07:41, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Sorry for coming late. I also think this particular project is ready for the final check. I'll do my best to keep working on it. Thanks for a fruitful discussion guys! @StevenJ81, User:Ләйсән. --Comp1089 (talk) 01:57, 16 July 2017 (UTC)

@Comp1089 and Ләйсән: Hi, both. Just a couple of other things here:
  • Go to translatewiki.net, to the interface section, and in particular the page with the localization of the core MediaWiki messages into Bashkir (this page). For second and subsequent projects in a language, LangCom likes to see a continuing effort to translate the interface. Also ...
  • Bashkir Wiktionary is also not so far away from approval. There was a period back in 2012 when there was enough activity to get the project approved. Why it wasn't I can't say; I wasn't working on new projects back then. But there's a good amount of content in that project. For this one you will have to establish a pattern of community involvement. But if you can do that you ought to be able to get the project approved sometime later this year. So think about that when Wikibooks is approved. StevenJ81 (talk) 20:47, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
StevenJ81, ок. Thanks--Ләйсән (talk) 18:36, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
